Analyse du rôle de l'IFREMER dans l'instruction du dossier Salmor ArchiMer
Drévès, Luc.
This report describes the contribution made by IFREMER in the various stages of installation of a new salmon culture in barge's tanks moored in Morlaix Bay. Tacking into account the opposition to this project, including direct criticism of the role of IFREMER, a considerable effort is made to provide detailed environmental impact data to the appropriate Government office

In 2013, the project ‘Assessment of the renewable rate of the seawater masses in the Miquelon ‘Grand Etang’ ‘ focused essentially on (1) building a data set originating from all partners (e.g., DTAM, IGN), (2) preliminary sampling of current patterns so as to facilitate the 2014 field sampling strategy. Besides this approach, a census of aerial pictures dated from 1950, 1990 and 2005 were studied to assess the temporal trends of this geographic sector. The field work to be carried out in 2014 are: 1) Bathymetry: data acquisition in the ‘Grand Etang’ in the area presently used for mussel long lines culture to obtain a comprehensive data set, transversal profiles at the strait level at the near vicinity of the current pattern measuring station. 2) Current...

Etude de la variabilité de la circulation du gyre subpolaire de l'Atlantique Nord à partir des données Ovide et de mesures satellitaires ArchiMer
Gourcuff, Claire.
The cyclonic circulation of the North Atlantic subpolar gyre, between 50°N and 63°N, plays a key role in the climate variability. The Ovide program contributes to the observation of the circulation in this region. A section is repeated every two years in summer since 2002 between Greenland and Portugal following a path close the Fourex 1997 section. To get transport estimates across the sections, a geostrophic box inverse model is used, constrained with direct current measurements. Our new estimates of Fourex transports show the need to use constraints temporally associated with the section to get transports estimates representative of the circulation at the section realisation dates. It is also shown that altimetry velocities can be used instead of ADCP...

Hydrologie du Grand Etang de Miquelon. Estimation des flux et renouvellements ArchiMer
Le Moine, Olivier; Geairon, Philippe; Robert, Stephane; Coudray, Sylvain; Fiandrino, Annie; Goraguer, Herle; Goulletquer, Philippe.
This study aims to assess the hydrological fluxes between the ‘Grand Etang’ of Miquelon and the oceanic part. Bathymetric surveys and Doppler current meter data acquisitions were carried out from August 14th, to November 5th, 2014 and from April 1st, to end of July 2015 to allow the following estimates : Total area (227 Ha) and characteristics volumes (total : 6,7 106 m3; oscillating 2,8 106 m3 (40 %); half-tide 5,2 106 m3) Velocity Index of channel to evaluate the average current speed at cross-section channel Fluxes, on flood and ebb tide respectively : Instantaneous flow: maxima at 94,2 et 65 m3/s mean 37.2 et 24.5 m3/s. in 2014 and maxima 85,03 et 73,62 m3/s mean 26,22 et 28,20 m3/s in 2015. Circulating fluxes by tide : maxima 1,06 and 1,09 106 m3,...
